Meet Dawn Stafford, an elected trustee on SBCERA’s Board of Retirement.

Dawn’s father inspired her commitment to public service and helped her realize the essential role of government in providing vital services to the community. She was also profoundly impacted by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who fueled her passion for equality and justice.

“Public service is important because the government provides the essential services that people need,” Dawn said.

Reflecting on her SBCERA pension, she shares, “When I retired, my mind was at ease because I knew that SBCERA was well-managed and that my money’s not going to run out before I pass.”
