As we continue celebrating Women’s History Month, we proudly recognize our Chief of Member Services, Christina Cintron, for making history as the first woman to serve in this role at SBCERA.

Since joining SBCERA in 2014, Christina has held several roles throughout the organization and now serves as Chief of Member Services where she oversees all functions related to member services. She directs the planning, organization, and operations that directly impact the service we provide to our members and the experience they have with SBCERA.

She is a true champion of empowering staff to be confident and consistent in serving our members, and seeking to achieve the Superior Service Experience we’re striving to deliver.

“Christina’s leadership and dedication ensure that our members receive the highest level of service,” said Marc Bracco, SBCERA Board Chair. “Her expertise and commitment to operational excellence continue to strengthen our organization and the way we show up for the people we serve.”

Christina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from the University of La Verne. As a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of California, she brings a strong financial background and a passion for excellence in service.

Through her leadership, expertise, and dedication, Christina continues to enhance the experience of SBCERA’s members and retirees, ensuring they receive the support and service they deserve.

“It’s an honor to serve our members who’ve dedicated their lives to serving San Bernardino communities,” said Christina. “Providing exceptional service and ensuring operational excellence are my top priorities.”

We had the opportunity to ask Christina a few questions.

What does leadership mean to you?
To me, leadership is about inspiring, guiding, and empowering others to achieve shared goals while fostering a culture of trust, accountability, and continuous growth. It’s not just about making decisions or holding authority—it’s about leading by example, providing clarity, and supporting others in becoming the best versions of themselves.

What are you most proud of?
I’m proud of the personal and professional accomplishments that have shaped my journey and led me to where I am today. Being selected as a leader at SBCERA is especially meaningful, as it allows me to apply those lessons to inspire and empower others to reach their full potential. Seeing my team thrive and make a meaningful impact on our members’ experience is incredibly rewarding.

What drives you?
I’m driven by my desire to do my best every single day and to inspire others to do the same. I thrive on challenges, seeing them as opportunities to grow, innovate, and make a meaningful impact. Above all, I believe in leading with kindness—creating an environment where people feel valued, supported, and empowered to achieve excellence.
