SBCERA’s Communication Efforts Receive Statewide Honors
The San Bernardino County Employees’ Retirement Association (SBCERA) is honored to have received statewide recognition for our commitment to effective communications, one of our strategic pillars, by the California Association of Public Information Officials (CAPIO).
The CAPIO EPIC Awards program recognizes the most creative and effective efforts in the areas of communication. SBCERA took home the Award of Distinction for our Quick Tip Video Series and Life After Retirement Newsletter. This award is presented for projects that exceed industry standards in quality and achievement.
We’re proud to serve those who serve San Bernardino communities, and we understand the responsibility we have to effectively communicate with over 48,000 members and 17 employers throughout California.
This recognition reflects that commitment and support our efforts in delivering consistent, clear, and helpful messaging.
About Our Award-Winning Projects
This project focuses on our continued commitment to inform and educate our members and serves as one of the clearest ways to explain some of the most complicated topics. Driven by frequently asked questions and direct feedback from our members, this series aims to address retirement questions directly. Through these videos, we strive to provide our members with valuable resources to that help them feel confident in all their future retirement decisions.
Life After Retirement Newsletter
In our member engagement survey, we discovered most of our members (72%) prefer to receive information from SBCERA via email. Yet, we weren’t sending emails at all. We expanded our digital communications strategy by developing a periodic newsletter, “Life After Retirement”, tailored for our retired members, to support them in their life after retirement. This newsletter is designed with our members in mind and includes bite-sized information on latest news, highlights, and educational resources specific to them.
To our members—we will continue our commitment to communicate clearly and transparently with you. Whether you’re just starting your career, already enjoying retirement, or somewhere in between—we’re here for you. We’ll continue to be at your service for many years to come.
