Who is eligible to vote in the 2024 election?

  1. If you are an active General member, you are eligible to vote for the General Member Trustee seat.
  2. If you are an active Safety member, you are eligible to vote for the Safety member Trustee and Alternative Safety Member Trustee seats.

How and when will I receive a ballot to vote in the 2024 election?

Eligible voters will be able to vote by mail or online—a convenient and secure option. On November 5, 2024,  ballots will be mailed to your registered address and if you have a valid email address on file with SBCERA, an electronic ballot with be emailed to you.

You can verify or update your email address by following these steps:
  1. Login into mySBCERA and select My Account located on the top right-hand side of your screen.
  2. Select Account Settings
  3. Navigate to Email to verify or update your address.
  4. Click Update

I want to run for a seat on the Board, where can I obtain candidate forms?

Candidacy materials and procedural information will be available at www.SBCERA.org/Elections from August 12, 2024, through September 6, 2024, at 5 p.m.  In person filing will not be accepted.

Can I hand deliver my completed ballot to SBCERA’s office or SBCERA’s PO Box?

No. Mail-in ballots must be returned via US Mail to P.O. Box 921, San Bernardino, CA 92404 by 5 p.m. on election day (December 3, 2024) in order to be eligible and counted. Mail-in ballots must be returned using the return envelope provided in the ballot materials.

Note: In person ballot submission will not be accepted at SBCERA offices or SBCERA’s PO box.

When will we know the results of the 2024 election?

Election results will be published on SBCERA’s website on December 4, 2024.
